We're home!

After being gone for 5+ days, we were all ready to get home to see Josh! We headed out to Duxbury Beach to enjoy the beautiful weather we've been having (the best all summer!).

Birch Point Beach

My parents have had their home in Maine for over 20 years now (and have been going to the same area for much longer than that) and this is the first time we've been to this beach. It's 10 minutes away and beyond beautiful. It's our new favorite spot. Who knew Maine had nice beaches?? Not us!

Drew's Table Dancing

My parent's dining room table has a glass insert in the middle. Drew, being the climber that he is, loved getting up there and checking things out (Mimi was beyond nervous!). Funny thing is, Jack loved to do the same when he was about the same age (and Mimi was just as nervous then too)!

I see you!

The Union Fair

The boys and I went back to Maine (Josh stayed behind) for another visit. We all went to the Union Fair. I went once before - about 20 years ago! - and not one thing has changed. The first thing the boys saw was the tractors (there were hundreds!) and they didn't want to budge from them, although we did get them to go and see the animals - cows, pigs, goats, llamas, chickens, etc... - for a bit. But back to the tractors we all went. It was definitely the highlight of the Fair (or Fairy, as Jack kept calling it!). We tried to convince Laura to enter the blueberry spitting contest, but she wasn't up to it. There's always next year.....

Drew checks out the piglets.

Laura started to like the tractors after a while!

Jack's favorite part - getting a new truck!

Jack's 4th Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Jack's 4th birthday with family and friends. Everyone had a great time and Jack "loved it".

Drew's first cupcake

Finally! Drew is starting to try some different foods (and like them!). Believe it or not, this is his first real sweet. It also helped that his big brother was eating one too.

Happy 4th Birthday Jack!

Jack turned 4 today! For his big birthday dinner he wanted "a cheeseburger, french fries, some beers, and a baseball cupcake"! He got it all - although the beer was root beer! We can't believe he is 4 already - where has the time gone??!!

I'm 4!

After the Storm

After a quick thunderstorm, we headed to Duxbury Beach. The weather couldn't have been better and it was great to get out there again - it had been too long!

Jack @ the dentist

Jack went to the dentist this morning for his 6-month check-up. According to the hygienist he has "groovy" teeth. He looks pretty groovy in this picture, too! (Taken with my cell phone - sorry it's blurry!).

Jack's Bag of Nursery Rhymes

Jack's last day of pre-K (summer session) was today. He came home with a "Mother Goose" bag filled with lots of fun projects. He now knows all the words to the following nursery rhymes!

Puddle Jumping

After a quick thunderstorm, Drew ran outside to splash in the puddles. Jack followed and before we knew it, they were both soaked. They were having such a great time that we stripped them down and let them play.... and play.... and play....

The Belted Galloways

On the way back from the beach, we stopped to show Jack and Drew the cows (Belted Galloways). Jack could have sat there all day watching them. Drew, on the other hand, wanted to get closer (go beyond the fence) so our visit with the cows was a short one!

Lincolnville Beach

We went to Lincolnville Beach this morning. Drew wasn't too sure of the seaweed on his toes....
